Is PUBG still popular in 2021

We're only 12 years away from 2021, but could PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds still be popular in the gaming world?

Bluehole Studio's controversial Battle Royale hit was a resounding success with PUBG garnering almost 33 million players when it was released back in March last year.

But as the game has become more and more popular, a number of issues have been associated with it such as cheating and various bugs.

Of course, not all players are affected by these issues and of course, those who are playing PUBG with no issues and taking it at its own pace are loving the game.

So what about when we see 2021?

Well the previous year will see the release of both PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds on Xbox One and PUBG for PlayStation 4.

So there's going to be some competition for the hardcore players. But also, they're also a lot more expensive.

PUBG has £24.99 and PUBG on Xbox One is available for £49.99. And the PlayStation version costs £49.99 too.

So, when are the next generation consoles being released?

The rumours are flying thick and fast. There were rumours that the Xbox One X could be released in December this year.

But Microsoft has just confirmed the console will be released in November this year.

There is also the PS5 to look forward to, although Sony doesn't seem ready to announce it's successor. So far the only thing we know about it is that it will release in 2020.

We're hoping to hear a lot more about Sony's console during the PS4 Pro's console reveal event on 20 March, 2018.

So will PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds be around in 2021?

We think there is a good chance it could still be a smash hit.

Having such an early release and huge fanbase already, it's hard to see it disappearing anytime soon.

In fact, the game is now so popular that the developers have had to hire a team of graphic designers to create new high-quality skins to keep up with demand.

And the idea that PUBG will disappear in 2021 isn't as crazy as you might think. In January 2017, Fortnite topped the UK downloads chart and with it, PUBG is now just a little game in a larger game.

PUBG is available on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Windows PC and Android.
